Dear Lord,
Please give me the grace, energy and patience to nurture this wonderful, challenging, headstrong and complex female child you gave to me.
Amen.
This has been my mantra lately in regards to raising my daughter. Sometimes the contrast between sugar and spice is too much to bear. Yesterday, just before we dyed Easter eggs, she had a major meltdown.
When I said, "Let's brush your hair so you won't look like a rag a muffin in the pics." She heard, "You can't wear your bunny ears." I guess this is a sign that we both need to work on our communication skills. lol
In the end, it all worked out and we dyed the eggs and had a great time. I just wanted to share a few pics. If you enlarge the pics you may still see swollen eyes as evidence of the meltdown. :) If you have a minute, I'd love for you to answer my poll. Thanks for stopping by!
Aww. Looks like soo much fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of you all that can do these type of things with your kiddos! :)
I'm glad she was able to put on her happy face afterall, and the bunny ears, lol!
Happy Easter, Sherry!
Happy Easter to you too, Andrea!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't vote in your poll. :( LOL My sister is having a boy as you know, which freaked her out because she knows nothing about boys, but I keep re-assuring her boys are easier than girls. Do you think this is true? I'm sure it was in my case. LOL The eggs turned out great. I really love that last picture Sherry of you two! xoxo
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, boys are so much easier! Tell your sister to relax and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Julie Ann! Happy Easter to you!
raising two little girls is indeed an adventure to say the least... they are why I scrapbook because I don't want to forget anything, but I'm really glad to have a LOT of support from my family... I rely on my mom for help and love ♥
ReplyDeleteI have 3 teenage/young adult daughters. I've been through all the phases. Mostly I do a lot of deep breathing, counting to ten, and walking away. But I do remember the days of screaming til I was hoarse and a brief stint with prozac!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter and you got some great pictures in the end too!
ReplyDelete...I RUN...lol
ReplyDeleteYour photos turned out great! Hope you guys had a great Easter...with my dad and Stuart's dad both terminally ill we just take one day at a time and live each day the best we can...we try and make the most of each day...some days are definitely better than others...
You're right, Renee, running is a good option!
ReplyDeleteYou know you and your family are in my prayers!
Hugs to you on this Easter Sunday.
LOL - gotta love the interpretation kids take on what we say - she looks adorable in her bunny ears and looks like y'all have a fun time!
ReplyDeleteLoved the poll - gave me a good chuckle when I got to the drugs part! hahaha
Aw what a cute little bunny!
ReplyDeleteIt's so funny how two participants in the same conversation can "hear" entirely different things, isn't it? :o)
So glad to have "met" a classmate from Shimelle's class - and now I am your newest follower! :o)
uh...boys have meltdowns too! Trust me. And Sherry, those aren't reading glasses on your head but sunglasses, right? you are too young for reading glasses. Enjoyed the pics. Making great memories!
ReplyDeleteDawn, What are reading glasses?! lol Thanks for looking!
