Easter 2013

Yesterday I went to an all-day crop and had a wonderful time. I was able to catch up with some friends I haven't seen in ages and had lots of laughs and too much food! You would think I would get a ton accomplished, but I did more socializing than anything. I did start on a 2-page Easter layout, but wasn't feeling super inspired. Today as I was unpacking, I decided to finish the layout. I added some stitching, ink splatters, and a few more goodies, and now I'm pleased with the end result. Most of the products used were from Cocoa Daisy's April kits with a few things from my stash. Thanks for stopping by!

Peeps & a Coonskin Cap

Easter morning I'm ready and waiting with my camera to capture my Daughter's first glimpse of her basket. I'm the one that got a big surprise... she came in with her coonskin cap from Pigeon Forge. I had to laugh because it was so cute and unexpected. Now comes the hard part -- how to scrap Easter pics and tie Coonie (her name for her cap) into the layout. Along comes Cocoa Daisy's June kit with My Minds' Eye (Miss Caroline), Pink Paislee's Prairie Hill and some Simple Stories thrown into the mix. This was the perfect paper combo to tie Peeps and a coonskin cap together. Here is the layout... I love when the unexpected challenge turns out to be a favorite layout. If you haven't had a chance, be sure to enter my giveaway (drawing is 6/22/12) here.

A Mother's Prayer

Dear Lord,
Please give me the grace, energy and patience to nurture this wonderful, challenging, headstrong and complex female child you gave to me.
Amen.

This has been my mantra lately in regards to raising my daughter. Sometimes the contrast between sugar and spice is too much to bear. Yesterday, just before we dyed Easter eggs, she had a major meltdown.
When I said, "Let's brush your hair so you won't look like a rag a muffin in the pics." She heard, "You can't wear your bunny ears." I guess this is a sign that we both need to work on our communication skills. lol

In the end, it all worked out and we dyed the eggs and had a great time. I just wanted to share a few pics. If you enlarge the pics you may still see swollen eyes as evidence of the meltdown. :) If you have a minute, I'd love for you to answer my poll. Thanks for stopping by!
