I started scrapping July 4th, 2011 photos last year but never finished them. I just couldn't get into a groove, but it's all good because along came the Summer Fresh collection from Simple Stories along with Cocoa Daisy's June kit. ♥ This collection captures the essence of my photos with it's simple, fun designs with a homespun feel. The first two layouts are a mishmosh of My Mind's Eye, Jenni Bowlin, Studio Calico...

First of all, thank you to everyone that participated, it's been a fun week on my blog! I did this the old-fashioned way -- I had my daugher pull a name from a hat (well, a bowl.) The winner is... **** MelissaJune 18, 2012 9:35 AM Oooh, I love purging! Not scrap supplies, but any other closet in this house is fair game. LOL. Easter morning I'm ready and waiting with my camera to capture my Daughter's first glimpse of her basket. I'm the one that got a big surprise... she came in with her coonskin cap from Pigeon Forge. I had to laugh because it was so cute and unexpected. Now comes the hard part -- how to scrap Easter pics and tie Coonie (her name for her cap) into the layout. Along comes Cocoa Daisy's June kit with My Minds' Eye (Miss Caroline), Pink Paislee's Prairie Hill and some Simple Stories thrown into the mix. This was the perfect paper combo to tie Peeps and a coonskin cap together. Here is the layout... I love when the unexpected challenge turns out to be a favorite layout. If you haven't had a chance, be sure to enter my giveaway (drawing is 6/22/12) here.

Growing up in Indiana, my favorite amusement park was Kings Island. I still remember the first time I rode the Racer... I screamed & cried the whole way and when it was over, I wanted to ride it again. Fast forward 40 years and I'm riding the Racer with my husband and two children. What a surreal and wonderful experience! I just had to share some pics from our special day... Even though the park has changed over the years, I still felt the magic when seeing the Eiffel Tower. Now I can pass the torch down to my children, I'm afraid the next time I go back, I may not be able to handle the Agressive Thrill rides! :) I may not be scrapping, but we're having some fun - thanks for stopping by!
