Scrappy Multi-tasking
If you read my last post, you know that I just organized all my UFOs into my albums. Jody at Cocoa Daisy threw out a Sweet 16 Challenge - the challenge was to use 16 elements on a layout. It sounded like the perfect challenge for one of my UFOs. I completed the first page of this layout in 2011! Of course I couldn't find one, little scrap of the paper I had originally used, so I had to get creative and find a patterned paper to compliment my original layout. The new Webster's Pages Modern Romance Collection (Carving our Name) had the perfect color match (I love when that happens!)
I found these adorable Kelly Purkey stamps that came in a Cocoa Daisy kit and thought they would add such a fun element to the page. I stamped the bubble phrases onto blue vellum paper with VersaMark and embossed with various colors of Zing Embossing Powder. I was giddy when I saw how cute they turned out! I then cut the embossed bubbles out and used pop-up dots to give some dimension.
There you have my version of scrappy multi-tasking. I finished a UFO, a challenge, and ended up with a fun 2-page layout!

Those stamps are perfect for embossing. Love the colors you chose.
ReplyDeleteVery cool! When I saw your LO in the Cocoa Daisy gallery I didn't realize it was half of a two-page spread! Love the way the papers coordinated, and those speech bubbles are so fun!
ReplyDeleteI loved this layout when I saw it in the gallery and like Lisa didn't realize it was a 2 pager.
