My First She Art Girl!

Several weeks ago I signed up for Christy Tomlinson's She Art mixed media class. Little did I know how much I would enjoy the process! Just watching her videos and techniques got my creative mojo running. The following are some pics of the process.

And the finished project:

Rather than using She Art phrases, I decided to use some words describing how I feel about myself and my life. My kids loved watching my girl evolve, when it was done, my daughter told me the girl looks just like me! (Even though I gave myself really BIG hair!)

If you're feeling inspired or want to check out Christy's classes, hop over to www.scarletlime.com. As always, thanks for stopping by my little blog.

  7. I love this work and trying to replicate for an individual auction art project for my daughter's 3rd grade class. The children will create an individual work that lists all of their favorite things. Would you mind sharing how you incorporated the text throughout. I would like them to tell me their favorite book and have them incorporate text from their favorite book in their artwork. How do you add it so subtly? Thank you so much! Nicole

  8. Thank you, Nicole! The background text (that you can barely see), is stamps with text. The bolder words are little letter stickers, hope that helps! Good luck with your project! :)
